Matewan PK-8 College and Career Planning Workshop
May 26 @ 5:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Seventh grade students at Matewan PK-8 will receive a tour of the College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV) website. Students will be guided through the college and career planning tools and will learn about the benefits of using CFWV.com to set and achieve their goals for high school and beyond.

Williamson K-8 College and Career Planning Workshop
May 26 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Seventh grade students and their parents at Williamson K-8 will be given an introduction to the College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV) website. This tool will help them plan for high school, college, and beyond, and it will help students learn how to set goals and achieve them.

Kermit K-8 College Tour of West Virginia State University

Seventh grade students of Kermit K-8 will take a tour of West Virginia State University in Institute, WV. Students will learn about the campus and its programs and will be able to ask any questions they have about college.

Lenore K-8 College and Career Planning Workshop
Jun 1 @ 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm

Students at Lenore K-8 will attend a College and Career Planning Workshop in order to learn how to prepare for life after high school.  Darrell Taylor from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College will speak with the students and discuss important points to consider throughout the college and career planning processes.

Van Junior/Senior High School College Decision Day
Jun 4 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Seniors at Van Junior/Senior High School, school staff, students and families will join college representatives to recognize College Decision Day and celebrate each senior who plans to pursue some form of post-secondary education, including certificate programs, workforce training and apprenticeship programs, two-year degree programs, four-year degree programs and military service. Counselors will provide students and families with information to help them make the transition to college programs.
