Price named Vice Chancellor for Finance and Facilities for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and Community and Technical College System

CHARLESTON, WV – Misty Price has been named Vice Chancellor of Finance and Facilities for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the Community and Technical College System.

Price, a Certified Public Accountant, brings over 25 years of experience in public and governmental accounting to the agencies, most recently serving as the Deputy Treasurer of Cash Management for the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office. She also previously served as the Coordinator of School Finance for the West Virginia Department of Education.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to be involved with an agency that serves such an important objective,” says Price. “Our West Virginia colleges and universities provide the educational foundation for our future workforce.”

Price resides in Hurricane, West Virginia and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from Marshall University.

West Virginia’s four-year public higher education system includes 12 campuses that offer vast opportunities for a high-quality education at an affordable cost. Together with these institutions and the state’s Community and Technical College System, the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission is working to arm 60 percent of the Mountain State’s workforce with a formal credential beyond high school by 2030 — nearly doubling the percentage of working-age West Virginians with a postsecondary education over the next decade.
